    Eybna Terpenes
    What makes Eybna terpenes unique?

Eybna’s terpenes originate from natural sources such as pine, lavender, citrus peel, and many other plants. All sources are non-GMO and 100% natural. These natural sources are abundant in nature, allowing for scalability. We have carefully chosen and optimized the natural origin for each molecule – favoring sources with impurities that naturally overlap with hemp phytochemicals. Optimization of the final product is done following deep analysis, to guarantee accuracy and consistency as well as to optimize formulations for specific applications.

Where are the terpenes extracted from?

Terpenes for medical and recreational products will either be hemp-derived or botanical-derived, meaning they have been extracted either directly from a hemp plant as an essential oil, or from other botanical plants such as pine, lavender, or citrus peel. Knowing the difference is important in terms of compliance: hemp-derived terpene formulations are subject to local hemp regulations, while botanical-derived terpenes are not.

The origin of the terpenes will also impact purity, consistency, and scalability. Each batch of hemp-derived terpenes will vary slightly according to the specific character of the hemp plant used; these variations are natural, even within the same strain and in the same growing conditions. Botanical-derived terpene formulations can avoid variations by sourcing individual terpenes from numerous natural sources and then creating a standardized blend. This ensures consistency from batch to batch, and the abundance of botanical terpenes can also make the formulations easier to scale.

Where can I find SDS and CoAs on your products?

We recommend reading the Safety Data Sheet before handling our terpene products. You can find the SDS and CoAs of each product at the bottom of the product page. If you have questions, contact the Support Team to further learn about the safe use of the terpene formulations.

What certificates do your products have?

Each of our products has an OU kosher certificate, cannabinoid, terpene, and microbiological certificate. Our CoA includes Cannabinoids, microbiology, and heavy metals.

Other than CoA we provide SDS, CoO, GMO, and TDS.

What can the terpenes be used for?

Our strain-specific and receptor-specific formulations can be infused into any oil-based product to enhance aroma and flavor and reintroduce the qualities that the hemp flower lost during extraction.

In addition to their immensely potent and prolific role in distributing hemp’s various benefits, terpenes are also among the most sensitive and volatile compounds produced within the plant’s trichomes.

The growing popularity of hemp extracts extends this problem a step further. Even in the more high-performance extraction processes that are CO2-based and known for delivering very potent output, the compound concentrations are dramatically different when comparing flowers with extracts. Their inherent volatility means that terpenes are lost in large quantities during the extraction process. While the extracted cannabinoids are more potent in concentrates, the loss of key terpenes results in a significantly different chemical profile and altered effects when compared to the whole flower’s properties.

    Are Eybna terpenes food-grade?

We certify that all of our formulations are assembled only of materials allowed for use as flavor ingredients intended for human consumption, or as indirect additives according to Section 21 CFR of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Also, we are compliant with the European Council Directive 88/388/EEC and EU Regulation 1334/2008.

    Where are your formulations produced?

What is the best way to store Eybna terpenes?

All of Eybna’s products are bottled in nitrogen-sealed, food grade aluminium bottles to guarantee 12-24months shelf life, depending on the specific product line. As terpenes are volatile compounds that easily get oxidized and degraded by light, we recommend storing the terpenes at room temperature or in a 4 degrees Celsius refrigerator and to avoid direct sun exposure. After opening, it is best to use the whole product and if resealing is needed, use nitrogen gas to prevent degradation.

How do I infuse Eybna terpenes in distillate?

We recommend using the smallest amount to receive the desired flavor. For distillate, the average usage is 2-3% (by weight), while for deeper flavor, around 5%. If your oil has high viscosity, we recommend heating it prior to the terpene infusion to prevent evaporation of terpenes. As soon as the oil has the desired viscosity, the reintroduction of terpenes can be performed until homogenization.

To learn more and for a full explanation read about Infusion Instructions.

In what other mediums can terpenes be infused in?

Most terpenes are hydrophobic, therefore not soluble in water.  In general, terpenes mix well in ethanol and other oil mediums. For the Full chemical structure  Click Here.

What safety equipment should I use while handling the terpenes?

Eybna, managers and employees are committed to meeting all regulatory requirements and the requirements of the law, and to the needs and expectations of our customers. While handling terpenes, it is recommended to be in a ventilated room and wear gloves, eye protection, closed shoes, and a lab coat. If a ventilated room is unavailable, use a face mask.

What lab equipment do I need for infusing terpenes?

    For small batch:

    • Analytical weigh
    • Glass beaker
    • Lab spatula
    • Pipette or graduated cylinder
    • Magnetic stirrer + bar or vortex
    • Hotplate (if your extract has high viscosity)
